Jean-Louis Méchali - composer, jazz drummer trained by jazz greats of NY City in the 70s, and former head of Music Conservatory on Ile de France. Mr Méchali was given missions by the French government for projects in several African countries. He will share a presentation on his 2010 project in South Africa.

Compositeur pour le théâtre, la danse, le cinéma, la radio (prix Italia de l’Union Européenne de radio 96) et  le disque (lauréat de deux grands prix du disque et de deux  grands prix de l’Académie Charles Cros).

Producteur de collections pour l’INA (Institut National de l’Audiovisuel) et le label Le Chant du Monde, il a été aussi professeur au Conservatoire de Musique de Bagnolet, responsable de l’enseignement de la musique  de Jazz en Seine-Saint-Denis (Conseil général 93) et directeur musical de la Maison des Métallos, pour le compte de la Mairie de Paris (2003-2005).

En 2001, Jean-Louis Mechali crée l’association Lutherie Urbaine, dont il a assuré la direction artistique jusqu’en 2012. Depuis, il s’applique à croiser tous ces métiers et à synthétiser toutes ces exériences

Claire MALBOS - Writer, Playwright, Jazz vocalist. Clarie will sing for us with her jazz bassist, speaking about her close ties with the Congo and the cultural influence it has had on her.

Corinne TSAMBA - IT expert and entrepreneur, Corinne will speak with us about her project of sharing the traditional crafts and customs of her country of origin, Cameroon, with Europe and the diaspora : Her form of intercultural dialogue !

Meredith BEAL - Born in the USA and now living in Nairobi, Kenya, is involved in Radio and TV Media, many high-tech platforms, as well as music and culture, all over the African continent. He has agreed to be with us virtually through the recitation of his poem AFRICA RISING in the original English and French versions.​

Florence MAKPOLO-SONI -

Après des études en langues orientales, elle évolue dans le domaine du négoce international.  Mais le besoin de se sentir utile au monde est plus fort.

Elle intègre alors la formation de « Bioforce développement » avant de s’engager pour des missions humanitaires en Afrique et au Moyen-Orient.   

Fondatrice de « Congo Action France », elle est très impliquée auprès d’associations et d’ONG qui luttent pour l’éducation et les droits de l’enfant dans le monde.  Aujourd’hui, elle conçoit, élabore et anime des formations en France et en R.D.C pour différents types de public.

 

A woman engaged both in France and in her native Democratic Republic of the Congo, Florence will speak to us of her activities in CONGO ACTION, and as part of a group of 30 NGOs at UNESCO working for Girls Rights.
